Spring Potluck…
Join us at the StreamWatch spring potluck!
Where: Pleasant Grove, eastern trailhead (directions below)
When: Saturday 5/31, from 3pm – 7pm
What to bring: food and drink to share (no alcohol). Grills will be available. Lawn chairs are recommended (we only have so many bucket-stools!)
Paddle-to-the-potluck Challenge: There will be a special prize for anyone who paddles to the potluck. You can launch at Crofton and take out at Pleasant Grove or Palmyra. Shuttles back to Crofton will be provided.
Carpool Challenge: Prizes will also be awarded to carpoolers.
Directions:
From Cville: take Rt 53 past Monticello, toward Palmyra. After passing the Food Lion at Lake Monticello, proceed about 6 more miles. To the left, you’ll see the main entrance to Pleasant Grove. Continue for about another mile and turn left at the entrance to the Eastern Trailhead (aka the Dog Park).
From Palmyra/Rt 15: Turn onto Rt 53 and go approximately 1/2 mile. Turn right into the entrance to the Eastern Trailhead (aka the Dog Park).

Summer project: Substrate Sampling…
We need volunteers to help test the permeability of the substrate of some of our streams. Christine May, our professional substrate sampler, will be out on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer. If you can help, please contact Rose.
