Announcements
Congratulations, Volunteers!…
StreamWatch (YOU!) won the NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service) 2007 award for Outstanding VA Volunteer Group. The stately award will be displayed for your viewing at the StreamWatch party on November 15, and thereafter in a special place at the office.
Party update: Talent Show…
You know how much we like performances and prizes… To participate in the Talent Show (during the party on November 15), please come prepared with a 5 MINUTE song, poem, skit, or story about a wild, eventful, or horrific sample that you’ve taken. You’re encouraged to work in pairs or in groups. The volunteers with the best story/song/poem/skit will win a prize. The Talent Show will begin at 7:30pm.
Fall Monitoring…
If you can help with a sample, please see the dates below or contact Rose with your availability.
Reminders for Certified Monitors:
- Please begin your samples with a 1-second net, then adjust the other net times accordingly.
- Please consult the revised Sampling Instructions
- Don’t forget to preserve ALL worms
- Use the most up-to-date Data Sheets
- If you need to borrow equipment, go to the StreamWatch shed at The Nature Conservancy. The combination is 22-12-2.
